My research has refocused around the following notions:

After a short pause due to circumstances beyond my control the new media research blog is back.

A number of studies regarding new media development and the nature of work have been commissioned over the last few years.

The Ecomonic Policy Institute have published:

'New Working: Work Patterns and Workforce Policies for the New Media Industry' Batt, R. et al EPL 2001.

The Northern Ireland Interactive Multimedia Association commissioned:

'Skills + Knowledge = Growth: New Media Skills in Northern Ireland' Dream Ireland Ltd 2001.

The concept of knowledge workers and knowledge management is an area of interest. These terms have been applied both to corporate production and education.

The Second Nordic Workshop on Computer Supported Collaborative Learning and Knowledge Empowerment Reprt includes a paper relating to this area.

Kotamraju has investigated the notion of skill and subsequently issues of gender in new media work. See ref below.
